Through illustrations nostalgic yet haunting, Milan-based artist and Cromazoo Studio cofounder Michela Buttignol has displayed technological prowess in both her physical and digital pieces. In addition to illustrating book covers and editorial and advertising pieces for various publishing houses, she has played significant roles in filming and post-production for music videos, advertising spots, assorted short films and pieces of animation. Buttignol was born in 1981 and raised in Sacile, a small town in the Friuli venezia Giulia region. After completing high school, she moved to Milan to attend IED Milano and graduated with a degree in illustration in 2003. Since 2008, Buttignol has been teaching a self-designed illustration class at cfp Bauer in Milan. Michela now lives in Brooklyn, NYC.
